SolidRun: CuBox-i blog articles
SolidRun is a Raspberry Pi clone manufacturer. Their small device is a higher performance and more attractively packaged. They also run a focused open source community effort which ports popular Linux distributions (including Adroid) mostly targeted at streaming media and control applications (XBMC, digital signage). Due to their limited marketing resources, their management requested long form articles covering specific applications and niche market segments. Tikal Networks
Tikal Networks is an open source VoIP developer and integrator. The company provides PBX and call center systems based on Asterisk server architecture. The company supplies some of the largest Israeli companies with integration, hardware and maintenance services. Tikal Networks' management, wanted to translate their local success into the international market. They also wanted to increase their internet visibility and start competing with other suppliers. The first step was to design a new web site. The design came from competing sites with the emphasis on graphics and video. They also wanted abilit to keep the site fresh with blog posts. The site was designed using WordPress blog server and a professional theme. The graphics were added from a professional graphic artists. The whole project evolved over three months. At the same time, social media promotion on Linked-In and Tweeter brought early results. [please contact me for more details on my work on the project].
NexTrade / StockPair
NexTrade is a new financial trading company, offering: StockPair.COM, an options trading service. The company came up with a derivative techniques of using pair trading with binary options. This techniques eliminates market and sector shifts which essentially leaves the investor with the choice of which stock with perform better in a period of time. NexTrade needed to explain this technique as well as entice binary option bidders to try the service. The site is implemented with the trading system as a primary goal using Grails framework. This limited the actual authoring feature set. Yet, the site still needed about 25 pages of text covering instructions, tutorials, business rules (account terms and conditions) and additional corporate related material. The system available was simple, essentially a simple menu bar and straight html pages. Graphics was designed early on to assure uniform look to the site. The text was outlined using competing sites and what was needed to get the site launched. [please contact me for more details on work on this project].
